DECLASSIFICATION DIVISION
MISSION
The Declassification and Historical Research Program has primary responsibility for the administration and operation of the Office of the Secretary Defense (OSD) Declassification programs. This includes the primary focal point and principal liaison for the planning, implementation, and execution of the Systematic and Mandatory Declassification Review Programs in accordance with Executive Order 12958. These programs directly involve that national security, are subject to intense Congressional and media scrutiny and have a pervasive impact on the general public. Incumbent is delegated the authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of these programs to include the development, assignment, and high-level clearance of goals and objectives developed to assure their timely and cost-effective achievements.
