About the Library
Outside the Firewall Access
The Research Library provides access to a few workstations with “outside-the-firewall” access to the Internet. Board staff can reserve library conference room space with outside-the-firewall workstations using the Microsoft Outlook room reservation feature. Outside-the-firewall access is helpful in a number of situations:
- Using collaborative tools such as Skype to communicate with co-authors and prospective job candidates
- Providing guests with a way to connect to their files for presentations
- Connecting to live online meetings that require downloading browser plugins in order to connect to the web-based presentations
In addition to the Research Library, there are other meeting spaces at the Board with outside-the-firewall workstations as well. For more information about outside-the-firewall access in the Research Library, please email Ask-a-Librarian, call x3333 or contact us via the Ask-a-Librarian IM.
