MGT Division title changes effective March 8
The Compensation section continues to make progress toward bringing more consistency to our compensation practices across the Board. Over the last several months, we reviewed job title and responsibilities of select supervisors in the MGT Division. We also conducted desk audits for several supervisors that involved a comprehensive analysis of the duties and responsibilities.
After looking at how the supervisor title is used in the marketplace and other Board divisions, we are making a change to align our supervisor job titles more closely with job titles both inside and outside of the Board.
As of March 8, 2015, the titles of supervisors at grade 27 and above (18 total) changed from supervisor to manager. It is possible to have a manager reporting to a manager. The objectives and responsibilities did not change for either and it is expected that they will continue to honor the reporting relationship. The titles of managers who are currently at grade 29 (7 total) changed from manager to senior manager.
These are title changes only with no associated salary adjustments. Titles for employees who currently have a supervisor title and are in grades lower than 27 will remain supervisor. People managers who are currently in grade 29 but have a chief title were not impacted and their titles remain chief.
