LEU teams up for the National Police Week 5K
On Saturday, May 9, members of the Law Enforcement Unit; their System colleagues from Philadelphia, Charlotte, Richmond, and Baltimore; and friends and family members took part in the 2015 National Police Week 5K walk/run in Washington, D.C. They were “virtually” joined by colleagues from FRB Minneapolis who did a parallel race in Minneapolis.
The walk/run is part of National Police Week, an annual gathering of law enforcement officers from around the world in honor of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
This was the fifth consecutive year that the Federal Reserve Law Enforcement team has taken part in the race, growing from six members the first year to 47 this year. The team finished in 17th place and their top three finishers were (in order) Kwesi Thomas of the Board, Darius Mason of FRB Richmond, and Sean Brennan of the Board.
Congratulations to all the participants!
