March updates from Michell
Colleagues,
Even though it hasn’t quite felt like it outside, the calendar assures me that it’s almost April. Our division accomplished a lot in March and throughout the first quarter, and I thank each of you for your hard work and continued efforts to provide legendary service to our customers.
To update you on a couple items I mentioned in my last message:
- Moves to 1801K continued this month. We now have successfully settled more than 600 employees into 1801K, and there are only two more moves to go. There have been a few hiccups that we quickly addressed, but overall we have received rave reviews about the space, amenities, and service provided by on-site staff.
- Many of you attended the engagement survey focus groups. I want to thank everyone who took part. Your input will help our leadership team to better understand some of our results, and it also will be used as we look at actions we can take to improve the work environment in our division.
- HR Solutions launched Boardwide. This online tool provides new ways for our customers to help themselves with questions related to benefits, disability, leave, HR data, and employee records. It’s a good example of how automation can give customers more choices while also making our existing processes more efficient and consistent.
Next week, I’m holding a managers meeting, and as a part of that we will address a concern they have about clarifying their role in making decisions. I want every manager to feel empowered to make informed and effective decisions within their designated authority, and also to share that empowerment so staff know when they have the authority to make decisions.
Our 3Cs Mid-Cycle Dialogues will be taking place in April. To help you get the most out of this opportunity to discuss your progress and share feedback, a new guide is available with detailed descriptions of how our competencies are evaluated, and new online and in-person courses are available. I encourage you to take advantage of these resources—data shows us that people who take the training have a more productive and positive experience with the 3Cs process.
Please contact me or your manager/officer if you have any questions or thoughts about the items I mentioned above or anything else. We want your feedback.
Make it a GREAT Day!!!!
