Volunteer and Outreach
Once the IASP Alumni Connections section is finalized, the IASP Executive Administrator, NSA will begin soliciting alumni volunteers for the following roles:
Networking Coordinator: To develop, kick off, and manage a networking program. This program would encourage and support communication between interested IASP scholars and alumni.
Programs Coordinator: To develop and execute programs and/or events of interest to interested IASP alumni, as interest dictates. Such programs/events may include:
- Professional Development
- Social Gatherings
Mentor Coordinator: To develop and manage a mentoring program for IASP scholars and alumni. This would entail coordination of mentor assignments, which may include solicitation of mentor volunteers, receipt of mentor requests, matching volunteers with mentorees, and/or providing open mentoring forum(s).
Mentor: To support IASP scholars and alumni in their professional endeavors based on experience as prior scholars and/or work experience in the IA profession.
Outreach Participant: To participate in DoD CIO IT and IA–related academic outreach events. Participants may be asked to help with outreach planning activities, logistics the day of the event, and functional support.
All volunteers would work under the auspices of the IASP Steering Committee, with specific guidance and support provided by the NSA. All alumni social programs and events would be "no host."
For now, we ask that IASP alumni consider their availability and what they may have to offer as a volunteer for one of these opportunities. Watch the site for an announcement when the IASP Steering Committee is prepared to move forward.
