OPPORTUNITY AWAITS

College students who are not currently employed by DoD may apply for scholarships through the IASP Recruitment Program. Under this program, DoD funds scholarships in eligible IA disciplines for rising juniors or seniors in college, as well as individuals who are accepted into, or currently enrolled in a master’s, PhD, or graduate certificate program.

Students selected for the IASP recruitment program are awarded funding for tuition, required books, fees, labs, equipment and a stipend to cover room and board. Currently, the stipend to cover room and board expenses for undergraduates is $12,000 and for graduate students is $17,000 per academic year; disabled students may receive additional allowances. During breaks in their academic studies, IA scholars will receive progressive, hands-on experience through paid internships at select DoD organizations.

Current DoD military and civilian employees are eligible for graduate level degrees through the IASP Retention Program. Academic scholarships covering full tuition, applicable fees, and books for graduate and PhD students are provided. Students continue to receive their military pay or civilian salaries from their Component throughout their course of study.

All IASP scholars attend one of a select number of academic institutions designated as Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAEs) or Centers of Academic Excellence Research (collectively referred to as CAEs). Disciplines and programs of study supported under the IASP include: biometrics, cyber operations, digital and multimedia forensics, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer crime investigations, computer and computer information science, computer engineering, software engineering, computer programming, computer systems analysis, database administration, data management, information security (assurance), network management, mathematics and business management or administration. Every degree program offered has an IA emphasis.
